Experience a mud walk with the Ranger

Mud is Good, it makes the saltmarsh of Wigtown bay and creates the biodiversity we can see there. This is a truly unique experience with lots of fun and activities to get involved in along the way. From mud sliding to fishing for shrimps.

If you like to get wet and muddy then these walks are for you. There are lots of different creatures in the pools and mud of Wigtown Bay for us to investigate but the best thing is the mud itself. I will provided nets, magnifying viewers and the expertise so that you know that you are safe to explore this very muddy estuarine environment. You can combine a mud walk with rock pooling or another beach activity for a full day at the seaside.

I was filmed to give a virtual tour of Wigtown Bay for Wigtown Book Festival 2020. The films fgive you a taste of what you can expect on one of my mud experiences.
