Nights are darker now so there is lots of time for stargazing activities. Some are public and some are private parties. There are still lots of opportunities to do daytime activities too and my diary is getting busy.
OWL Scotland Conference 2017I am running a home-made rocket workshop at the Outdoor and Woodland Learning Scotland Networking Conference at Dunkeld. This is a great opportunity to showcase my skills and promote the kinds of slightly alternative and creative outdoor learning that I do. Promoting Dark Sky activities for the day time.
Dark Sky Park Conference 2017I will be working with the Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park, the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere and the other Biosphere Dark Sky Rangers to help host the First ever Dark Sky Park Conference. It is to be held here in Dumfries and Galloway on 20th to 23rd of September. More news here as all the different events and workshops are announced.
Luxury StargazingWould you like to do some luxury Stargazing? I am working with Knockinaam Lodge to provide special stargazing experiences. Planets stars and of course the moon all have stories to tell and Knockinaam Lodge is a lovely place to find out more.
I am working with Kirkcudbright Cycle for Life to create some family friendly cycle afternoons with a bit of a cycle on their fantastic bikes and then a campfire on the beach

New - Sound Lab to go to the Dock Park, DumfriesI am working with Dumfries and Galloway Council's Community Learning and Development in the Dock Park in Dumfries to deliver my new Freelance Ranger Sound Lab during the Easter Holidays (April 11th). It is a great chance to explore and learn about sounds, there will be Water drums, string telephones and a bottle xylophone as well as the mysterious Silver Sound Box!
