Stargazing again for Earth Hour 2018.
Freelance Ranger is working with Dumfries and Galloway Council at Dumfries Museum to do some stargazing and other space related activities during Earth Hour on the 24th of March. The event starts at 8:15pm with Earth Hour and the lights turn off at 8:30 will we see a change in the lights over Dumfries? Dumfries Museum is a high up place which allows us to up and see the stars and to look over Dumfries and see if the light level changes as lights g off.
Join me for a free Earth Hour event in the heart of Dumfries.
Earth hour allows us to turn out the floodlights for the main Dumfries and Galloway Council Building at the heart of Dumfries and reduce the light pollution in its carpark. This is a great chance to see what the stars look like from the heart of Dumfries.
Earth Hour Pass the Panda
As part of Earth Hour we also have one of the limited edition Pandas, now named Star. She will be available for selfies at Dumfries and Galloway Environment Fair and at the Earth Hour event and will be passed on after that with the aim to reach other areas with Dark Skies. Panda selfies will be posted on social media with #PassthePanda and #EarthHour.
